Restoring our natural environment : replanting our work sites

Did you know ?

Replanting is essential after earthworks.  It helps to protect the soil by reducing erosion.  It facilitates the ecological and landscaping integration.  It means that our installations are better integrated ecologically into the landscape and is essential in Alpine pasture lands.

It is carried out either in the autumn or in the spring or at the beginning of summer after the snow has melted.

What are the Grand Massif Domaines Skiables actions ?

Numerous replanting operations are undertaken by the Grand Massif Domaines Skiables every year.

Grand Massif Domaines Skiables is also committed to improving its seed mix with mixtures selected according to the agricultural context, but also to match naturally occurring seeds as closely as possible. To this end, a specific combination of species adapted to the natural environment was sown over a 5 ha area on the Tête des Saix and a harvesting operation was carried out directly on the Marvel ski slope.

Grand Massif Domaines Skiables is also committed to local sourcing: some of the replanting is carried out by spreading so-called standardised compost from the Morillon WWTP.

Grand Massif Domaines Skiables s’engage aussi à s’approvisionner localement : une partie de la végétalisation est réalisée par épandage de compost dit normé issu de la STEP de Morillon.
