OPTIMIzATION APPROACH<\/h2>\n OF OUR WATER NEEDS <\/span>\n <\/div>\n
For several years now, Grand Massif Domaines Skiables has been working to gain a better understanding of its water requirements, with the aim of reducing consumption and managing this resource sustainably. <\/div>\n

A water observatory was launched in 2022 with 4 levels of commitment:<\/p>\n

  • Assessing quantitative challenges<\/li>\n
  • Modeling the functioning of hydrosystems<\/li>\n
  • Adapting to climate change<\/li>\n
  • Regenerating water resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In addition, a plan for water sobriety has been initiated to include all services using this resource.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n

    \n Climatic study ClimSnow <\/span>\n <\/div>\n
    Climsnow quantifies the reliability of snowmaking (natural snow, groomed snow, with or without artificial snow) at different timescales (up to 2050). <\/div>\n

    It provides snow-meteorological projections based on IPCC climate scenarios.<\/p>\n

    Objective: to<\/strong> help resorts define adaptation and diversification strategies for tourism, taking climate change into account.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

      They measure the snow depth under the snow groomers’ tracks in real time, so that only the snow needed is produced and consumption is reduced.

      Abandonment of snow networks below 1600 m altitude: in line with the recommendations of the Imp’Act and Climsnow studies, we are abandoning artificial snowmaking in areas with low natural snow cover.
