Discover the job of a ski patroller !

Discover the job of a ski patroller at the Grand Massif and enjoy a privileged experience behind the scenes with our mountain professionals.

Accompanied by the Giffre piste service, you will have the opportunity to go up before the opening of the ski area and discuss with them several aspects of the job, among others :

– process of opening the slopes
– prevention of accident risks
– dangers in the mountains and off-piste
– approach to snow conditions and nivology

To finish this activity, enjoy a well-deserved breakfast with our teams at the restaurant Au Pré d’Oscar at Samoëns 1600 !

Price : 20 € / person (breakfast included !)

When and where !?

This weekly activity is available every wednesday morning until 5 april, at the departure of the Vercland gondola lift.
Please arrive before 8.30 am at the foot of the ski lift to be met by the ski patrol.

To participate :

Registration only at the Samoëns GME and Vercland cash desks, at the latest the day before at noon on Tuesday.
Places are limited to 20 participants!

Conditions of participation:

– Minimum age 12 years, minors must be accompanied by an adult
– Good level of skiing required to be autonomous on groomed slopes
– Must be in possession of a ski pass
– Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended

Activity subject to cancellation in case of bad weather or PIDA obligations (Preventive avalanche Activation). In this case; the experience can be resheduled to Thursday when conditions permit, otherwise if we cancel the it you will be refunded.

An overview of your morning with the ski patrollers:

Departure from Vercland gondola lift in Samöens Vercland:

8.20 am : Meeting in front of the Vercland gondola with a welcome from the trackers.

8.30 am : Reception of the trackers before boarding in the ski lift

9.15 am : Be there before everyone else at the top of the Tête des Saix to enjoy the first light of the day which enhances the panoramic view.

Discover the daily life of the ski patrollers with their missions in the field to prepare the opening of the domain and exchange with them to get information from the mountain.

Around 10am : A final reward ! Enjoy a last moment of conviviality with the ski patrollers over breakfast, before putting on your skis again to continue your beautiful day at the Grand Massif.
