How do I take my baby on a chairlift?
Babies of any age are welcome, subject to the following conditions:
- If the child is ≤ 85 cm tall (approximately 2 years old and able to walk unaided), they are permitted on the chairlift provided they are carried in an approved front-facing baby carrier (all other types of baby carrier are prohibited). The child and the person carrying them occupy a single seat.
The operator must ensure that the guardrail can always be closed properly. If the guardrail cannot be closed due to the design of the seats or the size of the passengers, this constitutes a valid reason for refusal. In the event of a vertical evacuation, the baby and the person carrying it are evacuated together.
- If the child> than 85 cm, they are able to sit unaided (otherwise, they do not fall into this category). They must sit next to the person accompanying them. In the event of an evacuation, they must be evacuated alone, using an evacuation triangle suitable for small children.
The baby carrier (without the baby) is permitted on a seat and must be placed next to the person accompanying the baby, so that it cannot fall off the seat.
