WILDLIFE OF THE GRAND MASSIF

Come satisfy your curiosity about the wildlife that surrounds us in the mountains, and with luck, you may be able to observe animals!

Where ? When ?

Come and meet Nelly and Fabrice, who will be on hand to talk about nature in our ski area and explain what we’re doing to protect the environment. They will be at their observation point in the Grand Massif resorts:

Nelly welcomes you to Flaine on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays:

  • In the mornings, in the wintering areas, to ensure that they are working properly and to raise skiers’ awareness of their usefulness.
  • In the afternoon, from 1pm, at the start of the Désert Blanc chairlift, she will be observing the fauna and giving you all the information you need about the species that can be found in our mountains.

Fabrice welcomes you in Morillon and Samoëns from 1pm:

  • In Morillon on Thursdays (at the arrival of the Biollaires chairlift) and Saturdays 8/02; 22/02 and 9/03.
  • In Samoëns on Wednesdays and Saturdays 11/01; 1/02; 15/02 and 02/03, at the Lac des Gouilles.

These events are free of charge but are subject to weather conditions and may be subject to change.

NATURE AND ENVIRONMENT ACTION

The Grand Massif initiative aims to make visitors aware of the protection and discovery of the environment.

The estate is home to exceptional fauna, some species of which are endemic to the region, such as the ibex, chamois, black grouse, bearded vulture and ptarmigan.
