A unique view of the valley

The Saix Plateau and Lake Gouilles
Experience the mountains in a different way by combining scenic hikes with the ski lifts in Samoëns.

Right from the start, the Grand Massif Express cable car whisks you up to the Plateau des Saix at an altitude of 1,600 metres. Here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the valley, with splendid views of the surrounding peaks, particularly Le Criou – the resort’s iconic peak.

This first section leads the way to a walk towards Lac des Gouilles. Start by following the stone path across the plateau, then continue along the pastures.

As you arrive at the lake, nestled amongst lush green landscapes and mountain pastures, a path on your left leads you, after just a few metres, to a small outcrop offering a view of the Vaconnant cirque.

The tranquillity of this lake provides the perfect natural setting for a moment of reflection in the heart of the mountain pastures. There are picnic tables available here.

After this break in the fresh air, the adventure continues at a higher altitude…

If the guardrail cannot be closed due to the design of the seats or the size of the passengers, this constitutes a valid reason for refusal. In the event of a vertical evacuation, the baby and the person carrying it are evacuated together.

The baby carrier (without the baby) is permitted on a seat and must be placed next to the person accompanying the baby, so that it cannot fall off the seat.
